Father Peter Auer, Pastor
Father Peter Auer is the Pastor at St. Joseph Parish and at our linked Parish St. Francis de Sales, Hazel Green. Father Peter came to Hazel Green in July of 2021. His previous assignments in Wisconsin were: Our Lady of the Lake in Green Lake; St. Joseph Parish in Fort Atkinson; Corpus Christi Parish in Boscobel, Muscoda, Avoca, and Clyde (Father was in charge of four churches); and his first assignment at St. Bernadette in Ridgeway and Barneveld. (Father had 2 churches with this assignment.)
Before Father Peter became a diocesan priest in 2012, (He was a religious, belonging to the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity-SOLT). Because Father was a religious, he was able to work in various parishes in the United States, as well as in the Philippines (six months), and in Austria (for one year). As nice as it is to travel around the world, it is still best to come back home and settle down.
Though Father Peter was born and raised in Austria, he became a citizen of this beautiful country in 1993 and consider this as his home. Father has three brothers who all live in Austria and they like it over there, so he figured let them stay there, but he will remain here.
May our good LORD watch over us and make St. Francis de Sales ad St. Joseph Churches a place that brings a smile to His face.
